So far, our favourite bits involve the cue card challenged “actors” repeating the phrases “The storm is coming” and “I am afraid” with all the conviction of extras from Night of the Living Dead.Apparently, Stephen Colbert’s been having the exact same reaction. On Thursday’s episode of The Colbert Report, the pseudo right wing pundit responded to the NOM debacle with his own mock ad, which exceeds our wildest dreams. It’s tough to choose a favourite moment the 700 Club/Weather Channel reference? The woman who declares, “I am a hired actor who is willing to take any job”?I will let you decide for yourselves.
Prize money that Armstrong won for titles may be required to be returned. When it stripped him of the Tour de France wins, the also urged Armstrong to return the nearly $4 million in prize money that came with the victories. Attorneys find enough cause.
Now the cost is not cheap. So don’t be Wawa. Whhhining about that aspect. The shoe industry is, by design, a polluting enterprise. Alone last year it produced over 350 million pairs using toxic dyes and glues, chemically tanned leather, synthetics, plastics and petroleum based rubber all combining to produce millions of pounds of waste. But emerging footwear companies like Deja Shoe and Eco Dragon are joining the ranks of Birkenstock, Patagonia and Adidas to meet the needs of consumers who want high quality, durable shoes that can be recycled or resoled and, more important, use low toxic materials and sustainable production methods to wrap their feet in stylish comfort..
My muse and wise friend says he just like the guy in the old Midnight Express movie, who was jailed in a Turkish prison for drug trafficking. There, he finds his fellow prisoners walking clockwise around a wheel; he begins walking the other way. The other prisoners are at first distressed, then furious.
